MoMA X Vans Collaboration

Vans teamed up with the Museum of Modern Art to bring Salvador Dalí, Claude Monet, and other prominent artists in its collection to sneaker form. Curated with careful consideration of artistic expression, the forthcoming collaboration includes four footwear models – the Old Skool Twist, Slip-On, Authentic, and Era – in addition to apparel and accessories. The first of two launches revolves around three of the most iconic modern art pieces: Dalí’s “The Persistence of. Memory 1931”, Vasily Kandinsky’s “Orange 1923”, and Monet’s “Water Lilies 1914-1926”.

Each artistic expression adds a refreshing take to its respective Vans silhouette, with the Old Skool Twist having its foxing stripe distorted in true surrealist fashion. The French countryside and German Bauhaus-inspired shapes also leave an impression on “Off the Wall” classics. Accompanying backpacks and t-shirts also deliver colorful proposals, going as far as interpreting Vans’ iconic checkerboard pattern, too. To inspire and cultivate creativity from early on, this collaboration has also prepped a kid and toddler-exclusive capsule.
